An Overview of December 2023 Transits and How They Will Affect You:

      First off, let me take a moment to wish you a Merry Christmas, or Hanukah, or Kwanza, or whatever other special days you may be celebrating this month, and a Happy New Year too.  Looking back, 2023 has been a difficult year for most people, so it’s going to be nice to top it off with what we all hope and pray will be a happy and wholesome month of celebration, with family and friends.

     The transits for December are interesting ones.  A grand cross in the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn will create a lot of activity and tension, but ultimately a lot of false starts and stops.  In family and other social activities, you can expect everybody to have different expectations and agendas, so your best bet if you are the host of a party is to expect the unexpected and go with the flow, knowing there will likely be last minute changes, as well as personality conflicts among your guests.  Competition is likely, as well as some power struggles in the kitchen.   Making light of all this will help you to de-stress the holidays. What makes the transits this holiday season especially unusual though, is that we begin the month with a Yod aspect.  A Yod is known to astrologers as the ‘Finger of God’ aspect.  In this case, the ‘finger of God’ points to us all having to change our life circumstances in some way, in order to move forward into the improved life that we want to lead.  For some that is a very big thing.  For all of us there will be a lot of soul searching, reviewing of the past, and careful planning.  The worldwide financial situation is edging towards collapse or major change.  This both inches us towards war, but also prevents it. Remember that the greatest opportunities come during times of change.

Aries –It’s time to bring healing to an unfair issue from the past that keeps plaguing you, Aries. You are emotionally oversensitive this month, going through lots of ups and downs regarding family and social issues. Big changes are happening at work but they will likely be delayed until after the new year begins.  Travel could be fun as long as you can keep to a tight budget. It’s a good time to lay plans for the future, especially regarding something that will require a big budget.  Be patient.  You can do it!

Taurus –New beginnings are all around you Taurus.  You will soon be taking action on a special dream.  There will be ups and downs and pitfalls to avoid, but there is a sense of adventure and ‘rightness’ about this.  If you have a partner or spouse, make sure you are on the same page before making any large investment.  A woman close to you will not be supportive in your endeavors, as she has her own agenda, she’d rather you followed.  Relationships in general will be somewhat trying for you this holiday season.

Gemini –Relationships dominate your holiday season this year, Gemini, in a good way. Expect lots of social activity.  Pay close attention to health matters – both your own and another’s, as well as your fur babies if you have any.  A friend or older family member may need a second opinion. Slow down and definitely pay attention to your environment if travelling.  Likewise, at home think before you act as you’re somewhat accident prone this month.  Tighten your budget a bit this holiday season.

Cancer –This is an emotional month for you Cancer, as you work hard to keep finances balanced and deal with others that don’t see it your way.  You, or someone close, is having marital issues and/or health problems in the spouse’s family.  Be supportive but try to stay out of whatever’s happening.  It seems like everyone has a bit of chaos in their lives this year, so pulling everyone together for a group celebration seems unlikely. Do your best to be flexible and keep your spirits high and the month will turn out well.

Leo –Your heart’s desire this holiday season is to escape, to travel, and to experience your childhood freedom once more, Leo. You could do that, though financial and practical matters may seek to interfere with your getaway.  Careful planning is required now, if your dreams of financial freedom are to come to fruition.  This may require some sacrifice now, so that your plans for the future are able to manifest.  A friend or family member is counting on your help.  Big changes are in the works.

Virgo – Spending the holidays at home this year with friends and family will be a good choice, Virgo, as if you are travelling things likely not go smoothly.  Expect some unexpected company, and a bit of chaos. In your career or work it’s possible to move forward with a cherished dream.  Financial issues plague certain family members. This month it’s important to set boundaries while providing help as you are setting up a blueprint for the future.

Libra – There will be some important discussions this holiday season with siblings and friends, Libra.  This is going to be a season filled with both new beginnings and many endings.  Important decisions will be made this month. What do you want?  That question is critical.  It’s time to make plans for the future.  Time to let go of past injustices and form new alliances. You are faced with many choices, the problem is, you don’t really want any of them.  Start focusing on what you do want. Start focusing on you.

Family members may have physical and emotional health problems. An older man and an older woman may be among these. Distances may be a problem.  Big decisions will need to be made.  This will be a difficult month for you if you allow yourself to be drawn in too many directions at once. Set priorities.

Capricorn – Expect lower energy levels than usual, Capricorn, as you move through this holiday season, so budget your time and effort.  There will be a lot of introspection.  This month is a good time to get in touch with your changing needs and desires.  Finances are shifting and a new balance has to be created.  There are new business opportunities that could bring good fortune but you need to determine how much control you can afford to give away.

Aquarius – Something you’ve been planning and hoping for this holiday season will be put on hold, or may be changed, Aquarius.  Throughout much of the month you’ll feel like you’re ‘going along for the ride’ as the unplanned issues of family and friends take precedence over your own plans and activities.  If you have an opportunity to travel for the holidays, do that.  You’ll have a good time and end the month somewhat saner than if you stay home and become embroiled in the chaos of both close and distant family.

Pisces – This is a good month for laying future business plans and setting personal goals, Pisces.  It will be filled with activity. If you choose to travel for the holidays, exercise care.  The likelihood is, though, that you’ll choose to stay home and avoid some unnecessary stress. A return to a past friendship or romance is possible.  There will be an opportunity to resolve past hurts and misunderstandings.  This is also a good month for moving your job or your home, or making plans for that, if that is one of your desires.
