Editorial Video-Blog for May 2022

Hello Everyone,

My heart is heavy this month, as I look back at the recent passing of several of my cherished friends who also just happen to have been World-Changers.  They will be missed, not just by me, but by many hundreds of thousands of people who followed their work, and whose lives were changed as a result of that experience.  I am only one of the many people whose lives these three wonderful human beings touched.  I give deepest thanks to them all.

Each of these World-Changers, in their own way, was a nurturer, so it is fitting that I should choose to honor them in my editorial this month, when we celebrate Mother’s Day.  To me, Mother’s Day honors the eternal feminine, the nurturer, in all of us.

The one I knew the longest was Alan Oken, world-renowned astrologer, author, and accomplished speaker.  He wrote, “Soul Centered Astrology”.  That title tells you how he approached both astrology and life.  I first met him in 1981 when he gave a lecture at a mutual friend’s house, and I got a reading from him.  Even then, near the beginning of his career, his brilliant mind captivated me.  The reading he gave me changed my life.  I was childless, and grieved my status.  I remember Alan sat and looked at my chart for a full five minutes before he lifted his head, met my gaze, and said, “You were not born to nurture children…you were born to nurture minds”.   That’s how Alan was.  When presented with a problem, situation, or any issue…he sat with it, thought about it, opened to his own higher intuition, and used his laser-beam focus to shoot directly to the heart of it.  That statement changed my life.  I went on to become the person I am today, and embarked solidly on the path I am still on today, because that man reached into my heart and saw the truth, just as he did in his readings and lectures for hundreds of thousands of others.  I went on to attend many of his lectures and conferences and even travelled to Bali to see him open many more minds and change many more lives for the better.  Over time, we became good, though distant, friends.  He will be missed.

I met Mary Alice Warren, co- founder and part-owner of one of the oldest new age book stores in the United States, Planet Earth Book Store, in Fort Myers, Florida, in 1990.  I phoned the store at just the right time.  Their Kabbala class was missing its teacher and as it happened, I had the knowledge to step in and teach it.  That began a working relationship and a deep friendship that lasted 30 years. I worked for Mary Alice teaching classes and doing readings for six years, during which time I learned far more than how to run a thriving New Age business…Mary Alice had a certain magnetism that drew people to her.  She had friends all over the world, in every branch, nook and cranny of the metaphysical world.  She brought many of them to her store to lecture.  I met some of the greatest names in astrology, magic, tarot, and more at her store.  She loved books, and her store was a treasure trove of knowledge.  Mary Alice nurtured minds, just as I do.  Yet she also projected the energy of ‘Mother Earth’ that kept her followers coming back, knowing she truly cared about them and their lives and would always share her wisdom from her heart.  I watched her change many, many lives for the better during the time I worked so closely with her.  Through the years that followed she and I remained good friends.  I often see in myself the many ways that I patterned myself and my lifework upon hers.  She will be missed.

 I only knew Sharo’n Lynn Wyeth, host of “Luminescence: Common Sense Spirituality and author of many books on the science she created, that she called ‘Neimology’, for a few short years.  I will forever be grateful to have known her.   Being interviewed by Sharo’n on her podcast was like being put under a microscope.  Her powerful intuition and discerning mind pierced straight to the core of every issue she tackled, and no subject was too big, too small, or too tabu. She exuded high energy and kindness extended with a firm hand.  As soon as you spoke with her you knew you could trust her.  She was just that kind of person. A retired math teacher, Sharo’n was a mover and a shaker who was just hitting her stride when she passed.  She saw new ideas and new possibilities in everything that life presented to her.  Her podcasts, radio broadcasts, personal appearances, and lectures were amazing.  She could talk to one person and reach everyone else who was listening.  With her bright mind she embraced and investigated every new idea she encountered.  When I invited her to my Psychic Development class, she immersed herself in my life work without a thought, though she’d spent many years studying on her own and with other teachers.  I watched as she helped the other students, fully participated with them, and helped me to open their minds and their abilities.  When she became ill, the whole class and many, many other people sent her healing love, and when she died so suddenly everyone of us felt her loss.  She came back to us in a most amazing way…during our class a mere two days after her passing, when I was speaking about what happens to the soul as a person dies, she came in, and her voice clearly said, speaking over mine, THIS IS SHARO’N.  Even after her death she came to support her fellow students and colleagues and give them the truth and proof of life after death even as they are just beginning their classes in mediumship – that is, talking to those who have passed. In that moment she changed the consciousness of everyone in the class.  She was a true World-Changer.  I have a copy of that clip on my website.  Just click here to hear it.  Her son told me that she had spoken to him and told him that if there was a way for her to communicate from the other side, she would do it, and she did!  I have a feeling that Sharo’n’s work changing people’s lives and being a World-Changer, is now continuing from the other side.

It has been my honor to have known these three amazing people, these three World-Changers.  Their work will live on, long into the future, through all of the people their lives have touched.  They have all shown us the power of selfless giving, of unconditional love, and how to nurture the spirit within.  I give my eternal thanks to all of them.
