October is definitely one of my most favorite months, both because I have so many wonderful Libra and Scorpio friends whose birthday's I love to celebrate, and because I love Halloween (also known as Samhain, All Saints Day, All Hallow's Eve, Hallow-Mas, Day of the Dead and a lot of other names over the centuries, including the Welsh name, Nos Calan Gaeaf, meaning the "night before the first month of winter", which is perhaps where all the other names and traditions spring from. For more on this, look up the Greek Myth of Hades and Persephone.   

As for me, I love the change of seasons that occurs now, and the feeling of being so close to the other side as the veil between the worlds thins around Halloween. 

I love all the different ways that different cultures around the world celebrate Halloween, or whatever they call it.  From shuttering houses to protect the living from the dead and the good people from the 'evil' spirits, to wearing costumes to frighten away evil, to dunking for apples and trick-or-treating for candy, to magical ceremonies to welcome the new season or year, to religious ceremonies and services, to plain old costume parties. 

Yes, this is one of my very favorite holidays, and one we seem to find joy in celebrating wherever we are in this world.    

And of course since the veil between the worlds really is thinnest at this time of year, this is the time when everyone really needs to beef up their psychic protection.
