Sandy's November 2019 Editorial

Hello Everyone,

When I sat down to put my editorial-blog together this month my mind glanced off many important topics in today’s news - from the political intrigue in Washington and the capital cities of many other nations, to the life struggles of people throughout the Middle East and elsewhere in the world, to the homeless crisis in California, to the need in the US for medical reform and in most nations for social reform. 

As all of these thoughts, and more, continued to swirl around in my mind, one thing kept floating to the surface.  It was a concept coupled with a feeling that’s perfect for this month when we traditionally celebrate Thanksgiving here in the US.  The concept is thankfulness and the feeling is gratitude.

How did thoughts of these difficult situations all over the world bring to me that powerful sense of thankfulness?  That overwhelming feeling that all is right with the world in spite of all the chaos we all see around us in the news every day?  It is because what I see, in all corners of the world, are people awakening.  People giving recognition to the factors in their life that they want to improve, and people accepting their own responsibility for making the changes they want in their lives by themselves.       

I see people coming together in family groups or neighborhood groups or social networking groups and giving support to one another’s goals, dreams and ambitions.  I see parents and organizations encouraging the growth and development of people in all kinds of situations - both smooth and easy, or difficult and tragic.  I see people being there for one another through all kinds of situations.    

I see our entire world awakening, each person, family, race, religion and culture developing its own special awareness and taking steps to reach out and embrace others to help them along the way.  I see us all moving towards unification through understanding that it’s alright to be different.

It’s almost as if the more adversity my mind encountered as I sought a topic to talk about, the more things I found to be admired, to be grateful for, and to be excited about.

Our world is evolving, and at a very quick pace, and this is a good thing.  Change always accompanies growth, and change is all around us.  All over the world people are going through tumultuous times as this sleeping giant who is our planet, and all of us that she nurtures, wake up together.  Who do you want to be when YOU grow up?  Because that’s really what’s happening.  We are all growing up.  We are all learning to become self-responsible.  We are all taking a next step in evolution, together.  

Here’s my wish for you at this Thanksgiving time -  I wish you to live in this moment and the next with complete joy and happiness no matter what your circumstances and to be thankful in this moment for all of the wonderful little things that make your life easier, fulfilled, and beautiful.  I wish you the knowledge in this moment that you are special, and you are loved.
