Tarot Tip #22 – How Cups People Love

This is my final tip about how the different tarot suits give and receive love.  It is fitting that the final suite I’m covering is Cups, because Cups is, of course, the suit we relate to both intuition and love, and the strongest natural ability to feel and see energy.

It’s important to understand first, that although Cups people can be just as intelligent as any other suit may be, just as physically gifted, just as adept at business, and any other area of life as any other suit, they do see life and relationships differently than the other suits.

The astrological signs associated with the suit of Cups are Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces.  All of these sun signs relate to life and love intuitively and energetically (and if your moon sign, ascendant, or south node of the moon is in one of these signs this could be you, too!)

What does this mean? Your Cups lover may think you are good looking and appreciate that, they may be happy about your financial success, as that helps heal their insecurities, they may be proud of your intellectual and business prowess.  But what really attracted them to you is your energy.  It’s the way they feel when they are with you.  It’s an intangible, tummy-warming, super-protective, comforting feeling that only you can give them.  Create that intangible quality in your relationship with your Cups lover, and they are yours forever.

Now, that doesn’t mean they are easy to get along with. If you are not a Cups person yourself, you may find your Cups lover emotionally erratic, insecure, self-centered, and argumentative. That usually occurs when your attention is elsewhere.  Remember, attention is energy, and it is your actual energy that they are in love with.  The deepest part of who you are.  They could never explain it to you, but they know it better than you do. How do you avoid those stormy parts of your relationship with your Cups lover?

Simple.  Give them the attention they need.  That can be as simple as just being with them as often as you can.  Physical touch in very important, as that is the way psychic energy is most easily transmitted.  So, touch them a lot.  Respond to their touches too. Hugs are very important as are cuddles, if your relationship is intimate.  They may cause a fight with you, just to make up and get those hugs and cuddles.

Once you understand your own needs better, as a Cups person, you can push past your shyness and insecurities and be more demanding in your love relationships, and acting out to get those things you most need to feel loved, will no longer be necessary.
A happy and secure Cups person who knows they are loved becomes a literal fountain of love and happiness for everyone they interact with.  Believe me, it’s worth putting in the time and effort to create that perfect relationship with them.

Other than other Cups people, who innately understand one another’s needs, Cups people usually get along best with Pentacles people.
