During my many years teaching tarot I’ve found that for many people, the court cards are the most difficult cards to learn.  If you are one of those people who have difficulty with them, you’ll want to pay special attention to this tip!

     You see, there’s a special trick I’ve used for years to make it easy to remember and read the court cards in the tarot deck.  This is important as the court cards represent all the people in your life, or the life of your client.

     To start with, each of the suits has a King, Queen, Knight, and Page.  Kings are adult, responsible, men.  Queens are women.  Knights are young men who have not yet assumed the responsibilities of manhood.  Pages are pre-adolescent children, or anyone acting like a child.

     I hope you are enjoying a wonderful Fall, and are having a great beginning to your holiday season.  This is my favorite time of the year, and it always brings back wonderful memories of years past as well.  To me, the holidays are a special time of the year when we get a chance to spend time with friends and family, or our family of choice.  I have many, many warm memories.  I hope you do too.

     This holiday season is a very special one.  In many ways, it marks the beginning of a new era.  We have all been through a lot over the last few years.  With all of the changes that have happened in our world, many of us have drifted away from the people we care most about.  Many of us have been compelled, through differences of opinion or ideology, to choose a side, and step away from those we love.  Still others have lost loved ones to illness, or physical distance because...

September will be an interesting month for sure.  With the Sun and Mercury in Virgo, Uranus and Jupiter in Taurus, and Pluto still retrograde in Capricorn, we will be enjoying the benevolent affect of a grand trine in the earth signs.  What that means, is that for this month, at least, finances should do well for us all.

There will be some great opportunities to make money, and to create security.  In a material sense, your dreams, goals and desires should move along nicely.  You may need to be a bit concerned about chancy investments, or loans or business arrangements made with your children or friends, though.

What do I do if all the cards in my spread are Court, or People cards?  How can I read that?

Here’s what to do if you pick some cards for a client or lay out your favorite spread to read for someone, and all, or nearly all, of the cards are Court cards. 

     Firstly, the Court cards are cards that represent people.  These would be the Jack, Queen and King in a regular playing card deck.  In the Tarot they are the Page, the Night, the Queen and the King. A few decks call the Nights ‘Princes”, and some call the Pages ‘Princesses so if you are reading the meanings from a book don’t let that confuse you.

     This is my favorite time of year, as I look forward to fall and its succession of celebrations that lead us into Christmas and the New Year.

     The first three quarters of 2023 have been difficult and stressful for all of us, so like most of you, I am looking forward to happier times.  This year I am planning on making the holiday season extra special for myself, my small family, and my friends.  I have already pulled all of my fall decorations from my storage unit, and put them up.  It’s amazing how much lighter I felt after doing that.  As each decoration came out of its box or bag, I felt myself embrace the memory associated with it.  Some were happy, some bittersweet, some sad.

We’ve got a lot happening this month in the sky, folks.  My predictions this month are for everyone.  I’m going to be talking about how this month’s transits will affect us all.

     First off, the outer, slower moving planets are all retrograde right now, and so is Venus.  All those retrogrades make for a lot of introspection.  They slow things down.  They help you sort things out.  They bring back past issues from the beginning of the year that you may have failed to deal with, or that you would like to have a better outcome.  Now is the time you might make that happen.
